SsmKOSK is an experimental breakcore/glitchcore/noise/spoken word project based in Slovenia, and headed by the poet-musician Blaž Božič. Until now, SsmKOSK has released four solo albums: Pičko 'n' troll (OFF TIR, 203), Merak (self-released, 2015) Ptičji mozak (Zvočni prepihi, 2018) and Pajser in mleko (Zvočni prepihi, 2019) as well as one split album with the Serbian noisecore artists Segregator X and Geneza Kineza: tripl split (Self-released, 2016). SsmKOSK has played in various venues around Slovenia, as well as in Serbia, Germany, Denmark, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Austria and Croatia. He has participated in the annual Club marathon tour of 2017, organized by the Slovene Radio Študent.
‘The completely radicalised combo of cut-up spoken word poetry, breakcore, impoverished turbofolk and other soundbites within the project SsmKOSK are engraved in the rich history of avantgarde attempts that are formed only at the place in which they emerge. In his live expression, Blaž Božič skilfully manoeuvres between both ends of the frequency spectrum. In contrast to intuitive thought, he invites the listener to a scattered dance. And why not?’
